Slideshow
Open a folder to start the slideshow. Your photos play straight from the drive and are never uploaded.
How it works
- Choose a folder from your computer or an external drive, or drag it straight in.
- Press play and the photos run in order, or shuffle them for a random mix.
- Go full screen for a wedding, birthday or any ceremony, and connect your Mac or laptop to a TV to show it on the big screen.
- Open "All photos" to see every image at once and jump to any one of them, even in a folder of thousands.
Made for large photo folders on an external drive
A single wedding or event folder can run to tens of gigabytes. On a Mac Mini or a laptop with a small internal disk, importing all of that into the Photos app copies it onto the internal drive and fills it fast. This viewer reads the folder in place from your external SSD or USB drive and plays it as a slideshow, so you can watch every photo without importing or duplicating anything.
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. The slideshow runs inside your browser on your own device. The photos are read from the folder and shown on screen. Nothing is sent to a server, nothing is stored and nothing is seen by us. It keeps working if you disconnect from the internet after the page loads.
Do I have to import the photos into the Apple Photos app?
No. This reads the folder in place, so your photos stay exactly where they are on the drive. There is no import step and no second copy inside a Photos library, which keeps a small internal disk free.
Can I play photos straight from an external SSD or USB drive?
Yes. Plug in the drive, choose the folder on it, and the photos play straight from the external drive. Nothing is copied onto your computer.
Will it handle thousands of photos?
Yes. Thumbnails load as you scroll through "All photos", and you can jump straight to any photo number, so a large event folder stays quick to browse.
Which image formats are supported?
JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF, BMP and AVIF. Camera RAW files such as .cr2, .nef and .arw cannot be shown in a browser, so export them to JPG first.
Does it work on a phone?
The slideshow itself works on a phone. Choosing a whole folder is best on a desktop or laptop, since folder selection is limited on phones.
